Dr. Mugisha Awarded 2017 Fulbright African Research Scholar Grant

Dr. Lawrence Mugisha an Associate Professor in the Department of Wildlife and Aquatic Animal Resources, College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (COVAB), Makerere University has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright African Research Scholar grant for the year 2017. According to the award letter from the U.S. Embassy, Kampala dated 28th March 2017, Dr. Mugisha’s grant will enable him to conduct research in the U.S.for a period of six months effective August 2017.

The Fulbright African Research Scholar program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (CIES). The grant will cover round-trip international travel to the U.S., a professional allowance for books, conferences,  and accident and insurance allowance among other items.

We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Lawrence Mugisha upon his award and wish him a fruitful research term in the U.S.
