Job Summary: The Infrastructure & Server Administrator will mainly be responsible for the proper monitoring and maintenance of FTB’s computersystems, hardware and communications infrastructure; design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • In charge of ensuring proper maintenance of user workstations infrastructure and update the IT assets inventory.
  • Provide technical specifications for user workstations and configure all new workstations.
  • Effectively track movement of hardware using equipment movement forms.
  • The incumbent will evaluate user hardware needs and provide support to users on peripherals, printer configuration, management, and disk space optimization.
  • Monitor file servers for viruses, and keep server and client anti-virus signatures current.
  • Manage and monitor server configuration, performance, and activity of all servers in a Windows domain including Active Directory, ensuring that each server meets 100% planned uptime.
  • Responsible for the proper maintenance of the Bank’s UPS’s by regular checkups and ensuring that only recommended computer hardware is connected to UPS systems.
  • Keenly monitor incident details, including the configuration items affected to protect systems from unwarranted configuration changes.
  • Implement the auditing policy in respect of datacenter requirements.
  • Install and maintain various Storage, Backup, Recovery and Data Protection infrastructure.
  • Install and configure new hardware, software releases, system upgrades; evaluate and install patches.
  • Manage and monitor server configuration, performance, and activity of all servers in a Windows domain including Active Directory, ensuring that each server meets 100% planned uptime.
  • Ensure access to online services; links between servers and desktops, phones and printers.
  • Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user workstation hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Manage FTB Switches, Cabling and all network identities and addresses according to correct standards and procedures.
  • Regularly monitor and report on the performance of hardware equipment and operating systems, explain any performance deviations and provide recommendations for the redress of any difficulties.
  • Tasked with the administration of the FTB firewalls and maintaining routine password changes.
  • In charge of the administration of the CISCO PBX and programming user handsets.
  • Set call limits and manage user account codes and disk quotas.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Finance Trust Bank Infrastructure & Server Administrator job placement should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a CISCO certification in networking.
  • At least three years’ experience in a WAN/LAN environment, which must include configuring switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of computer systems, Network operating systems and computer applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network problems, install and operate network monitoring tools and maintain network documentation.
  • Ability to work independently at any Branch outlet in an IT support capacity.
  • Good analytical, diagnostic and communication skills.
  • Good People management skills and ability to manage third party contractors
