General Admission Requirments

Degrees

  • A candidate must have obtained a minimum of 25 points in his/her five (5) best) subjects
  • A candidate must hold a valid Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) (Ordinary or Higher) or a recognised equivalent qualification
  • A candidate must have obtained a minimum C symbol in English if it was taken as a second language at NSSC (O level) or a minimum D symbol in English if it was taken as a first language at NSSC (O level)
Diplomas
  • A candidate must have a minimum of 22 points in 5 subjects (including English) on the Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC); and
  • A “D” symbol or better in English (NSSC-O Level) as a Second Language or higher; or
  • A candidate must have a recognised equivalent qualification
Certificates

A candidate must have a Grade 12 certificate with 17 points in five subjects including English with an E symbol.

    • Precious, 2017 intakes are closed. Applications shall be reopened in June for 2018 intakes.

    • Matias, if you are certain that you met all the necessary UNAM requirements, then simply reapply during the next intake. If you didnt meet the requirements then you will have to upgrade and reapply. It should be noted that meeting UNAMs Minimum entry requirement does not guarantee admission.

  4. pls tell me the late registration fees for senior student, the non-loan holder one.

    • A Late Registration Fee of N$600 is payable by all students, who register after the normal registration period.

  5. Do you accept LGCSE certificate from Lesotho or I should do something like IB to qualify for admission?

  9. when do applications for 2018 reopen? Can I apply online?

    • Yes you can apply online. Applications are open in June and September

  10. 2018 online forms are not yet there when qill they be available

    • Muzika, the 2018 online application forms will be available anywhere within June to early july

    • More, the UNAM Undergraduates Application Closing Dates are as follows
      Namibia Students: 08th September 2017, Late application: 06th October 2017
      International Students undergraduate: 04th August 2017, Late Application 08th September 2017

  12. I have only O level results with a B in English and an E in Math .can i still be accepted for 2018 intake ..the other 3 subjects are all passes

    • Letitia, UNAM currently doesnt offer health inspector studies. A bachelor of food science and technology is however offered.

    • Jacolien, UNAM Admissions are currently closed. Admissions will be open in 2018

    • No Sasa, only students who applied and gained admission are allowed to register.

    • Tusnelde, you will have to reapply for a different program, or to another institution. You can also upgrade your points before trying again.

    • Luisa, you can improve upon your points by enrolling with NAMCOL, or try applying for a different course.

    In terms of applying now? Do I download application form fill it in then bring for registration or what do I do…advice please

    • Kavetire, you can download and fill the UNAM Application form and mail it to the academic registrar or submit it in person at the admissions office. UNAM also offers the option to apply online.
