BRAC International is one of the world’s largest Non-Governmental Development Organizations, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform activities pertaining to the operational management, financial management, supportive supervision and coordination of project activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of the entire project related activities at the field level by monitoring the key indicators of project implementation.
- Monitor all training, i.e., play leaders basic and pedagogical training, Head teachers’ orientation training, as per project objectives, update the regular MIS data of the project.
- Facilitate and follow-up community meetings, parents meeting, material development workshop etc.
- Revise parenting manual with a focus of nutritional aspects.
- Maintain all administrative tasks according to project design and objective and ensure Capacity building of staff as required through trainings, meetings and refreshers
- Carry out necessary field trips and site visits to ensure effective implementation of the project activities.
- Develop and maintain good communication and relationship with the local authorities, management and other NGO’s.
- Prepare, document and submit all relevant reports, i.e., daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and plans to project manager on all projects implementation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences and Community Development or any other related field attained from a recognized higher institution.
- Three years of relevant experience working in the development sector especially in early childhood development and primary education.
- Strong background on program operations especially with early childhood development projects.
- Ability to work with children and young people in a nurturing, compassionate, and sincere manner.
- Knowledge and experience in dealing with caregivers and young children of 3-8 years.
- Excellent interpersonal & problem solving skills demonstrated by the ability to lead and gain assistance and cooperation of others in a team endeavor.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) & computer skills especially with MS Word & MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
