About US:
The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda) was founded to contribute to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality of life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and disease.
Job Summary: The Procurement Manager will manage the procurement function of TASO, provide technical assistance to the procurement committees on procurement matters and give support to departments and projects in regards to procurement activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Procurement and disposal policies, systems, strategies, plans and procedures developed
- Technical support and guidance on procurement matters provided
- Contracts and memorandum of understanding developed
- Compliance with procurement process established and reports written
- Coordination of assets and inventory disposal managed
- Organizational capacity development provided
- Coordination with the Chairperson procurement Committee done
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management certificate at level 4 of the same and, a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management with Membership to the Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (IPPU).
- At least five years of experience in the management of procurement activities in a fairly large organization, preferably donor funded.
- Specific Knowledge of Laws, policies and regulations governing procurement will be an added advantage.
- Key Skills: Interpersonal skills, Communication skills, Negotiation skills and Computer skills Other Qualities/Attributes: Integrity, Confidentiality, Team player, Empathy, Visionary, Proactive and Innovative.
