Job Summary: The Resilience Programme Manager takes responsibility for the effective planning, implementation, coordination, standardization and monitoring for efficient delivery of Cordaid’s resilience program in Uganda, with a specific focus on leading the Partners for Resilience consortium and implementation of the resilience program strategy. S/he maintains a robust grants management and ensures fundraising by building strategic relations with our current and potential donors and stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Development, Management and Reporting
- Project lead of the PfR alliance program in Uganda:
- Leads in the reporting on Partners for Resilience program and contributes to country strategic reporting and the annual country report.
- Oversee implementation of Cordaid partner activities.
Acquisition
- Lead the proposal development process and technical writing for award winning opportunities from government agencies, foundations, multilateral and bilateral institutions
Networking, Communication and Representation
- Develop and maintain close relationships with donors and counterparts. Participate in relevant networks and thematic cluster meetings/technical working groups and other meetings at government and national level.
- Ensure to appropriately represent Cordaid in all relevant forums) donors, government, and other key actors
Leadership & Management
- Ensure all programme-based needs and requirements are timely and efficiently shared with support services for best coordinated implementation.
- Maintain a close liaison on programmatic issues with the current programme donors beyond contractual reporting requirements.
- Support the Uganda resilience team in the implementation of the resilience strategy and specific projects.
Financial & Operational Compliance
- Ensure project quality adherence, contractual compliance and timely reporting.
- In collaboration with the Finance Manager, monitor the overall financial integrity of Cordaid program funds through grant management, monitoring and evaluation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the CORDAID Resilience Programme Manager job must hold a Masters or post-graduate in Development Studies, Social Work and social Administration, international development and/or similar field;
- A minimum of seven years of proven experience with strategy and program development and management of multidisciplinary programmes.
- At least 7 years proven experience with project management, leadership and team coaching.
- Proven skills in leading strategic programming and planning processes for programmatic coalitions
- Demonstrable experience of driving advocacy, communications, and fundraising approaches.
- Proven experience of representing externally to key stakeholders, maintaining donor relations.
- Experience of managing systems and tools to oversee complex project portfolios across different sectors and locations as well as within consortiums
- Experience in working with national/local actors and capacity building of national and local organisations
- Ability to live and work under pressure in a rapidly changing and sometimes insecure environment
- Good team player with excellent communication and strong participatory leadership skills
- Experience working in DRR and Resilience sector
