About US:

The Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) Trust is supporting agribusiness development in the private sector to achieve the objective of the Government of Uganda’s Competitiveness and Investment Climate Strategy (CICS). The Trust is a multi-donor entity jointly founded by the Governments of Denmark and Uganda. The mandate of aBi Trust is to support the private sector actors to increase their contribution to the agricultural sector by increasing land and labour productivity, and market competitiveness thereby contributing to poverty reduction through economic growth, wealth, and employment creation.

Job Summary:  The Investment Assistant will ensure that aBi Finance team functions are well supported and information and records are well stored to enable efficient operation; to effectively manage credit risk administration and general record keeping.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Providing support to the aBi Finance team in routine credit scoring and rating, claims validation, soliciting quotes
  • Feedback from stakeholders reflects effective support provided
  • Providing support in periodic monitoring, training and sensitization of partner institutions to ensure their adherence to set criteria and guidelines
  • Feedback from training and monitoring teams reflect effective support provided
  • Ensure there is a well maintained files, critical documents and databases that are accessible to aBi Finance team
  • Filing both physical and electronic versions of relevant documents developed
  • Critical documents accessible and well backed up
  • Support process of assembling relevant meetings and reports
  • Regular meeting records
  • Timeliness in availing input for reporting
  • Availing the necessary data for input into the aBi Finance reports
  • Timely and high quality data availed for report writing
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Fund Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a degree in either Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a relevant professional qualification
