Job Summary:  The GBV Supervisor will mainly promote the integration of MHPSS at the community and perform the day to day supervision of MdM outreach team’s activities

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to patients according to MoH protocols
  • Refer patients to other health professionals whenever necessary in order to provide the most appropriate treatment
  • Implement the mental health aspects of the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identify possible victims of SGBV and refer them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment, and provide psychological care for them.
  • Work in close collaboration with translators in order to ensure that appropriate terminology and behaviour are used during sessions.
  • Participate in outreach activities, in case of need, as well as in workshops’ organization
  • Monitor and ensure the appropriate implementation the MHPSS activities in the community
  • Work closely with the MHPSS/GBV supervisor in ensuring communication and good functioning with the other OPD/MHPSS/GBV team members
  • Organise the activities of the field team in close collaboration with MHPSS/GBV supervisor, and report challenges and potential solutions as appropriate
  • Carry out capacity-building for outreach team in close collaboration with the MHPSS and GBV supervisors, according to the needs identified and the training plan developed with the Medical Coordinator
  • Contributes to the MHPSS monitoring through data collection and data management, inclusive of that of the MdM outreach team
  • Be respectful to the beneficiaries and their relatives, treating all people equally without discrimination, and ensuring confidentiality and obtaining consent at all times.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in Psychology
  • Two years of relevant working experience as a clinical psychologist;
  • Previous experience with implementing MHPSS at community level
  • Languages: Mission and local language (Lugbara)
  • ssential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)  Competences/Skills: Results, teamwork, flexibility, commitment, stress management
