About US:
National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) is an organization established under the Act of Parliament of 2001. The Government of Uganda through NAADS is supporting sugarcane production using an out grower’s scheme arrangement in several districts in Northern Uganda in partnership with participating District Local Governments, Farmer Co-operatives and Horyal Investment Holding Company Ltd.
Job Summary: The driver’s overall responsibility is to drive official car of NAADS and transport staff and other materials to designated places.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure vehicle is in good running condition.
- Ensure vehicle is clean and in good order all the time.
- Ensure regular maintenance of the vehicle.
- Report any defects to the Manager Finance and Administration.
- Drive NAADS vehicle on authorized journeys-both in and outside the project area.
- Ensure vehicle, accessories and spare parts are safe at all times.
- Ensure vehicle licenses and insurance are valid.
- Record the kilometers at the beginning and end of the week and have it posted on the relevant form which should be delivered to the Manager Finance and Administration.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) Driver job placement must hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (Minimum qualification) with a credit in English.
- The person must have been trained as a driver and have passed driving tests leading to award of driving license for classes A, C, and E vehicles.
- Additional training in defensive driving is necessary.
- Relevant certificate (Transport Management, Logistics Management, UDBS, Mechanics) is an added advantage.
- Adult Ugandan
- Two years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Age: Below 45 years.
