About US:

National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) is an organization established under the Act of Parliament of 2001. The Government of Uganda through NAADS is supporting sugarcane production using an out grower’s scheme arrangement in several districts in Northern Uganda in partnership with participating District Local Governments, Farmer Co-operatives and Horyal Investment Holding Company Ltd.

Job Summary:   The Field Based Finance Supervisor will mainly prepare and sign relevant sugarcane production documents including witnessing material deliveries to farmers and ensure timely reporting on performed tasks. The incumbent also provides administrative and logistical requirements of the Sugarcane production activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare documents for loaded cane seed in trucks due for delivery  to beneficiary farmers.
  • Sign on transit/loading, offloading cane seed documentation.
  • Witness delivery of cane seed to beneficiary farmers.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other representatives of NAADS based in the field for harmonised processes.
  • Liaise with the service provider and farmers’ association for scheduling of smooth delivery of cane seed.
  • Prepare documents for receipt and issuance of seed cane and fertilizers for use in gardens.
  • Produce monthly reports on tasks performed.
  • Advise the Supervisor promptly and keep him/her informed on the developments in the field.
  • Preparation of certificate of work completion that will inform the payment decision by NAADS Management.
  • Provide support for the day -to-day administrative and logistical requirements of the Atiak Sugarcane production activities in coordination with relevant contacts.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal applicant for the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) Field Based Finance Supervisor job placement must hold an Honor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
  • Two years of professional experience with a reputable organization.
  • Adult Ugandan
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Must have good computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Power Point);
  • Demonstrable experience and excellent skills in report writing;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of institutions and environment;
  • Ability to work for long hours within a set-up of competing priorities;
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, flexibility and  an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Ability to respond timely to queries and provide feedback;
  • Self – motivated and dynamic with a willingness and ability to use initiative to assist the organization to achieve its objectives;
  • Keen sense of ethics, integrity and commitment.
  • Age: Below 45 years.
