BRAC International is one of the world’s largest Non-Governmental Development Organizations, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct bank/fund reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Confirm whether cash flows are correctly recorded in the cash registers.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Compute and submit tax and payroll related expenses
- Preparing and analyzing budgets against actual expenditures.
- Monitoring field expenses and accountabilities.
- Review supplier’s invoices and billings.
- Recommend the transfer of expenses into the out of projects.
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Candidate should have a complete CPA/ACCA.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role from preferably the development organization or NGO.
- Excellent advanced user of Microsoft excels application and other office applications.
- Ability to solve problems proactively.
- Very good analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
