Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) is a National Non-Government organization which was founded in 1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980s and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Its vision is to have “a society where all children live a full life “and a mission to” promote survival, development, participation & protection of orphans& vulnerable children in Uganda.”
About Project:
General Food Assistance and Nutrition in Refugee Settlements is a World Food Funded Project and will be implemented by Hunger Fighters in Consortium with UWESO in Oruchinga, Nakivale and Kyangwali refugee settlements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep assigned vehicle free from damage and in acceptable condition.
- Maintain assigned vehicle clean inside and outside.
- Have the assigned vehicle always fully fueled.
- Ensure that the vehicle is in a proper and safe condition prior to use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical malfunctions that exist.
- Perform simple vehicle maintenance (taking the vehicle for inspections, filling tyres with air etc.)
- Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of keys.
- Keep driving records (i.e. Mileage, fuel receipts).
- Work extra/overtime hours as needed according to the workload.
- Maintain an excellent driving record
- Operate vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly as assigned.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education.
- A valid driving permit.
- A defensive driving certificate is a must.
- A certificate in basic motor vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.
- One year of related driving experience
