Job Summary: The WASH Technical Advisor provides strategic and technical support in the design implementation and monitoring of LWF‘s WASH programme in Uganda. This will involve contextual analysis, WASH sector assessments, planning, internal and external coordination/representation, supporting the implementation/follow-up of LWF’s WASH programme in Uganda, and integrating WASH into multi-sectoral programming (with gender, protection and emergency food security and livelihoods). The role will influence strategic decision making within the WASH programme in line with LWI ‘s overall strategy for Uganda .

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To provide technical and programmatic leadership to ensure quality implementation of the project activities and achievement of objectives.
  • Take lead in the coordination, planning and implementation of the assigned project in Lamwo, Adjumanl, and Moyo subprograms; in line with the approved project documents and in accordance with the donor guidelines.
  • Design, establish and manage appropriate project monitoring and evaluation framework. Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards and donor requirements.
  • Prepares periodic project work plans. procurement plans and budget tracking tools in conjunction with other project participants to ensure appropriate and timely utilization of project resources.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to sub program manager on a regular basis (monthly and quarterly).
  • Ensures that all the staffs under the LEWA project understand the project, their performance outputs and have been appraised with appropriate documentation of performance.
  • Community participation and cooperation with other likeminded partners including District Local Government, other DlNU actors. etc.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the DINU Coordinator and Livelihood Advisor, as and when required and to the donor requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Nutrition, Food Security or any relevant field;
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Protect Planning and Management or Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in any oi the above disciplines will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years work experience in Agriculture, Nutrition and Food Security, or Livelihoods programming in a reputable international Organization.
  • Technical skills and experience in implementing agribusiness, and Market Systems Strengthening protects.
  • Demonstrable experience in budget management:
  • Must have excellent organizational, time management, communication and report writing skills.
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions and cultures
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including people management stakeholder management, and project life-cycle management.
