About US:
The National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) is the apex body for guidance and coordination of all agricultural research activities in the national agricultural research system in Uganda. NARO is a Public Institution established by an act of Parliament, which was enacted on 21st November 2005.
About EU Project:
The Government of Uganda has received a Grant from the European Union towards the Chase Poverty and Hunger Project under Development Initiative for Northern Uganda.
Job Summary: The Transport Manager will support the National Agricultural Research Organization Implement its activities under the chase poverty and hunger project in the Northern part of Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Driving vehicle for official duties and assignments
- Carrying out basic maintenance of vehicle and ensuring that the vehicle is always in good condition
- Reporting all technical/mechanical faults to supervising officer
- Ensuring the safety of the vehicle while on duty
- Adhering to all required traffic regulations and taking responsibility for traffic faults
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an A’ Level certificate of education
- At least six years of clean driving record and experience
- Basic mechanical and vehicle maintenance skills
- Certificate in defensive driving
- Valid driving permit
- Good communication skills and team work
- Age: Below 48 years of age.
