Job Summary: The Project Manager FSN who also works as Sub Area Manager Kasese is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects in the area, administer and monitor policies and coordination of overall implementation of activities within the Sub Area in line with Save the Children policies and guidelines. He/she is responsible for facilitating district level partnerships, networks and collaborations with civil society organizations and local government institutions for effective program delivery. The Sub Area Manager may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a University degree in domain related to food security and nutrition, environmental management, sustainable agriculture, social sciences, development economics or related areas. Post Graduate training in Project Management, Community Development is an added advantage. Have working knowledge in integrated programming (livelihood and nutrition) with child sensitive outcomes, child rights-based programming, policy application and advocacy
- 5 years’ experience of which at least 2 years in a senior management position. At least 3 years of relevant experience working with community based social development projects and with International NGOs particularly those addressing children’s rights and those applying partnership approach.
- Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Health & Nutrition, FSL, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection program delivery
- Ability to link program reviews, implementation, learning and documentation with the sustainable development goals and global issues like climate change
- Ability to speak local language and directly interact with target group will be an added advantage
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
- Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
- Excellent time management and planning capacity
