About US:
UPDN is an umbrella organisation for drivers’ associations/organisations and related stakeholders. UPDN was established in 2015 and registered with the NGO Board under the Ministry of internal affairs in 2016. This was at a time when many drivers’ associations were characterized by limited organization which adversely affected coordination in pursuit to common objectives of better welfare, common voice and professionalism. UPDN was hence established to build skills for professional development, coordination for unified voice of drivers on road safety agenda and to strengthen driver organisations for better welfare for their members.
Job Summary: The Program Officer will be responsible for the coordination of all project specific activities and will provide project implementation support to Project Officers peer leaders, partners and other stakeholders in the implementing area..
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and coordinate all project related activities.
- Plan and Implement project activities that contribute to the attainment of project objectives
- Strengthen the capacity of community support structures to identify and support communities in need.
- Assist in Program Administration of the UPDN.
- Ensure proper Project management.
- Conduct continuous research and provide recommendations on significant developments, emerging opportunities.
- Promote UPDN image and provide technical support to stakeholders in line with the Organizational mission vision and values.
- Timely preparation of work plans and related monitoring. • Timely implementation of project activities.
- Visibility of UPDN interventions with donors, partners, and beneficiaries
- Preparation of timely quality reports.
- Meet specified targets with expected outcomes.
- Organized office system evidenced by the ability of the supervisor to access all the information regarding the project.
- Disseminating information regarding interventions in a positive way PERSON
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences/Social Work/community Development/Project Management or any other related field Experience
- At least Two Years’ experience in program development and management in an NGO
