About US:
ACORD-U (Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development – Uganda) is an indigenous Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for social justice and development. ACORD has been working in Uganda since 1979 with operations in over 25 districts across Uganda. The ACORD-U works in conjunction with people who have been denied their basic rights, helping to better understand, to challenge, and to change the situation in which they find themselves.
About USAID KCHS Project:
The Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development-Uganda (ACORD-U), received grants from USAID, to implement the “Keeping Children Healthy and Safe (KCHS) Activity” in South Western Uganda (Sheema, Mitooma, Kazo, Kiruhura and Ibanda Districts).
Job Summary: The District Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing overall leadership and project management support of KCHS activities in the district. He/she will be responsible for coordinating, networking, supervising social workers and ensuring services delivery at household level by Para social workers is on course and representing the project, compiling work plans and reports among others. Work with the M&E Officer to ensure that quality data is collected and entered in the KCHS MIS
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The holder should possess a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, community development, or a related field from a recognized institution
- A post graduate qualification in project management will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of three years of consistent experience in a technical advisory/ support role with an NGO.
- Previous work experience of managing NGOs community-based children and adolescent health projects specifically HIV/AIDS, livelihoods and child protection.
- Experience in working with Local Governments systems is an added advantage.
