Job Summary: Raising Gabdho Foundation (RGF), a social enterprise committed to providing clean, accessible, and sustainable cooking energy to vulnerable communities, is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to contribute to our mission and gain valuable experience in finance and accounting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Assist in conducting financial analysis, identifying key performance indicators, and contributing to trend analysis.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models for the manufacturing/production division.
- Assist in monitoring budget variances and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Cost Accounting:
- Learn and assist in end-to-end cost accounting for the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand cost structures and contribute to cost optimization efforts.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather data for cost analysis.
Inventory Management:
- Gain exposure to inventory management by assisting in reconciling inventory accounts.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to understand inventory levels and contribute ideas for operational efficiency.
Financial Reporting:
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the manufacturing division.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into financial performance.
Sustainability Analysis:
- Support comprehensive business analysis, focusing on financial performance and growth opportunities.
- Learn to apply analytics to evaluate the impact of operational decisions on financial results and sustainability objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (graduated within the last 3 years).
- Strong academic background and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting.
- Basic knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks or similar programs.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the role evolves.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate financial information clearly.
- High ethical standards and integrity, understanding the importance of handling confidential financial information.
