Job Summary: The  Business  Analyst  works  closely  with  the  business  and  IT  technical  teams  and  develops  requirement  specifications  as  well  as  the  business  and  functional  requirements.  The  Business  Analyst  possesses  extensive  business  domain  knowledge  and  ensures  that  there  is  integration  between  business  and  technology.  He/She  works  closely  with  the  project  management  unit  to  prioritize  or  sequence  project  deliverables  and  negotiates  product  functionalities.  The  BA  understands  systems  development  processes  –  SDLC  –  and  is  very  analytical  with  problem  solving  and  conflict  resolution  skills  to  help  identify,  communicate  and  resolve  issues.  The  Business  Analyst  should  be  proactive,  able  to  communicate  with  both  business  and  technical  stakeholders,  and  must  be  able  to  solve  problems  while  under  pressure.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, define,  and  document  technical  requirements  for  workflow,  logical  processes,  and  interfaces  with  other  systems
  • Using activity  diagrams,  use  cases,  scenarios,  business  analysis,  flowcharts,  document  analysis,  requirements  workshops,  surveys,  site  visits,  business  process  descriptions  and  workflow  analysis  to  clearly  articulate  and  documents  business  processes  and  user  requirements
  • Identifying, defining  and  documenting  project  needs  and  objectives,  current  operational  procedures,  problems,  input  and  output  requirements  and  levels  of  systems  access  after  consulting  with  functional  unit  management  and  stakeholder
  • Analyzing the  practicability  of  and  developing  requirements  for  new  systems  and  upgradations  to  existing  systems
  • Gathering information  and  critically  evaluating  it,  reconciling  conflicts,  identifying  interdependencies,  disseminating  high-level  information  into  details  and  distinguishing  user  requests  from  their  true  needs
  • Interpreting business  needs  of  users  and  translating  them  into  the  application  and  operational  requirement  with  the  help  of  strong  analytical  and  product  management  skills
  • Establishing the  technical  vision  and  analyzing  tradeoffs  between  usability  and  performance  needs  by  teaming  up  with  developers  and  subject  matter  experts
  • Liasioning  between  development  teams,  Database  Administrator  and  Project  Manager
  • Using standard  templates  and  natural  language  to  develop  requirement  specifications

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree  in  Computer  Science  or  Computer  Engineering,  Information  Technology  or  Information  Systems  or  Software  Engineering  or  financial  accounting  or  Business  Computing  or  Business  Administration  or  a  related  field  with  hands  on  experience
  • A recognized  qualification  in  Vendor  Management  or  Business  Analysis  or  ITIL
  • At least five years  of  IT  Projects  implementation  preferably  in  Banking  or  Telecom  Sector
  • Should possess  strong  hands-on  experience  in  undertaking  Business  Analysis  during  ERPs/Core  banking/distributed  Systems/  web-based  Projects
