Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC) is recruiting two Data Officers to join their team in Kampala, Uganda. This role is central to overseeing data management for the Integrated KP Information System (IKIS), focusing on ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and delivering insightful analysis.

About Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC): UKPC is dedicated to advocating for the health, human rights, and socio-economic justice of key populations in Uganda. The consortium plays a vital role in coordinating strategic actions and strengthening systems and structures for its members.

Job Summary: The Data Officer will be responsible for managing data collection, ensuring data quality, conducting analysis, and reporting. This role will also involve collaborating with various stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement in data management practices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee data collection processes and ensure accurate data capture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for data integration and harmonization.
  • Implement data quality assurance protocols and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and generate reports.
  • Work closely with the IT Officer/System Navigator for data flow and system integration.
  • Engage with external partners and stakeholders to streamline data processes.
  • Stay updated with best practices in data management and recommend improvements.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, IT, information systems, health informatics, monitoring and evaluation statistics, computer science, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • At least three years of experience in data management and analysis.
  • Experience working with large and diverse datasets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in DHIS2 software is an added advantage.
