Tetra Tech International Services is implementing the USAID-funded Uganda Sanitation for Health Activity. The project works to increase household access to sanitation and water services and improved health through hygiene behavior change campaigns in homes, schools and health facilities in up to 25 districts in Uganda.
About the Project:
TETRA TECH International is recruiting highly qualified candidates for the USAID-funded Uganda Sanitation for Health Activity. The project works to increase household access to sanitation and water services and improve health through hygiene behavior change campaigns in homes, schools and health facilities in up to 25 districts in Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Master’s degree-level or higher in Civil Engineering, Environmental Public Health Engineering or Water Resources Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of managerial and operational experience in the WASH sector in Uganda.
- Experience managing large ($10M+) WASH projects in Uganda or East Africa. USAID project management experience is desirable. Deep professional networks in the Ugandan WASH sector, both within government and civil society. Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more USHA technical areas: Market Based
- Sanitation, CLTS, rural water supply, construction, and WASH governance. Strong communications and interpersonal skills to manage a team of talented Ugandan technical specialists and productively interact with a wide range governmental and non-governmental partners and organizational structures. Beyond coordinating programmatic delivery, the DCOP will assist the COP to supervise the execution of grants under contact and oversee the work of subcontractors, which are both critical for Project success. This position is open to Ugandan nationals.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills in the English language.
- The ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender are essential requirements.
