Job Summary: The driver is responsible for the safety of all passengers as well as other road users. The driver is also responsible for the maintenance of his vehicle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport persons and goods as requested by ACTED;
- During the entire working time the driver has to be available to ensure all goods and personal transportation required by ACTED;
- Every morning, the driver has to verify the oil level, cooling liquid, and the tire pressure;
- Every week, he has to verify the water level and battery status;
- Correctly fill in and update the logbook;
- Keep driving license and car papers valid and ready for inspection;
- Inform the supervisor immediately in case of damage/accident/technical failure to the car;
- When ordered by supervisor, refill the car according to ACTED procedures;
- Refill the car whenever necessary or when the level gets under half of the tank capacity;
- Help loading and unloading the car;
- Provided technical maintenance of the vehicle;
- Adjust vehicle speed to road conditions and drive with consideration for the safety of the passengers and other road users.
- Ensure that the following items are always in the car: logbook, tools and spare parts, complete first aid kit and two spare wheels in good condition.
- Look for and follow up on Quotations as and when needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the ACTED Area Driver job placement must hold an A’ level certificate with post secondary Education or Diploma.
- At least three years’ experience with an NGO
- Possess a clean valid driving permit
- Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written)
- Good ream spirit
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability
- Age: Between 30 and 40 years
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Madi is required
NB: Applicants should be natives or currently living in Moyo.
