Living Water International (LWI) is a global Non-Governmental organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living water”- the gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water International Uganda (LWIU) was formed in 2009. LWIU is an affiliate of Living Water International based in Houston, Texas, USA that was founded in 1990 and currently works in over 20+ countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. LWI Uganda runs an integrated Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) program in South Western Uganda & we partner with other like-minded organsations to provide safe drinking water, Community Mobilisation & Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to communities across Uganda.
Job Summary: The Finance Manager (FM) is a member of the senior management team and reports directly to the Country Director. The incumbent provides financial oversight to programs and ensures smooth operation of the finance function and key aspects of Administration. He/She is the chief advisor to the program on all aspects of budgeting, financial systems, periodic reporting, procurement systems, assets/fleet management, grants and contract management and staff. The FM also undertakes and supports periodic auditing and ensures compliance to policies, quality standards, regulations and controls in place.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Finance Manager must hold a University Degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting, Business Economics/Finance.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field will be added advantage.
- Professional qualification in CPA or ACCA
- Five years’ progressive work experience in Finance in an emergency and development context.
- Five years’ experience in a Senior Management position with International NGOs handling multiple roles.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, strategic thinking and quick decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in computer especially Excel, MS Word, presentation
- Working experience with Quick Books accounting software.
- High level of Integrity/ethics, commitment and respect for diversity
- Self-driven, attention to detail,
- Knowledge and familiarity with rules and regulations of major donors & partners like USAID, EU, DFID, will be added advantage
- Experience in WASH sector.
