Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Management Analyst (Economist) in collaboration with the team members and the project stakeholders will perform the following tasks:
- Assist in collection and analysis of financial and socio-economic data for the project.
- Advise and make recommendations on long term affordable and accessible financing of upgrading of the informal Settlements of Kinawataka and Kasokoso informal settlements.
- Work with Utility (electricity, water and sewerage) providers to develop feasible financial models for long term development options and extension of the services for Kinawataka and Kasokoso informal settlements
- Work with KCCA and other Utility providers to develop affordable and accessible financial models for the long term development and management of the Nakawa Market.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Programme Management – Analyst (Economist) – Retainer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Urban/Municipal Planning, Governance or relevant field from a recognized University or equivalent is required
- A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage
- At least two years of experience in developing financial models for community projects in an urban setting is required.
- Languages: Full knowledge of English language is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset
