About US:

RTI International is a nonprofit organization headquartered in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. RTI provides research and technical services. It was founded in 1958 with $500,000 in funding from local businesses and the three North Carolina universities that form the Research Triangle.

About USAID Project:

The USAID-Uganda Biodiversity for Resilience project is a $15 million, five-year cooperative agreement that seeks to assist communities, the Government of Uganda, and the private sector to conserve and manage biodiversity in target ecosystems for lasting environmental and economic sustainability and increased community and household resilience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Performs general receptionist duties, including answering the telephone in a professional manner, organizing, and maintaining office files and records, making photocopies/sending faxes and scans,
  • Ensures office equipment is maintained in good working order
  • Manages drivers/vehicle and fuel logs
  • Performs duties as requested by the Finance and Operations Director and Senior Accountant
  • Assists Activity information technology (IT) systems maintenance:
  • Troubleshoots and provides maintenance of software system and user problems
  • Configures local area network (LAN) and wide-area network (WAN) connection for the office

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the RTI International Administrative and Information Technology (IT) Assistant job must hold a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • One year of relevant work experience
  • Experience working with USAID or other US government-funded projects desirable
  • IT expertise is highly desirable
  • Must have strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and be detail and deadline-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure
  • Proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism
  • Must be fluent in English
