Job Summary: The Health Services Coordinator will monitor adherence to quality assurance standards and the attainment of all PSIU Reproductive health projects in line with the mission and strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Planning and Quality Assurance:

  • Work with the regional teams to develop timely quarterly and annual work plans, budgets and monitor budget expenditures against work plan for the related programs/ projects.
  • Keenly track program implementation against targets and ensure that needs for RH implementation are forecasted (training, commodities).
  •  Work with the PSIU supply chain department to ensure accurate forecasting, timely contracting and procurement of supplies, commodities and equipment for RH projects.
  • Supervise utilization of tools for monitoring the implementation of PSIU health programs in the region monthly in line with the set targets. Maintain linkages and collaboration with district local governments in the region, relevant implementing partners and stakeholders.

Knowledge Management: Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual and end of program/ projects reports to the reproductive health manager and other relevant stakeholders.

People and Culture

  • Conduct quarterly program performance monitoring visits to the regional teams for provision of continuous strategic and technical direction to field staff, implementing partners and program beneficiaries.
  • Appraise, coach and mentor the regional quality assurance team and partners through on-job training, in line with staff development guidelines.

Capacity building

  • Adopt relevant training curricula, standard operating procedures, IEC materials and job aides for the different RH program interventions.
  • Work with the Quality improvement specialist to ensure all protocols for quality service delivery periodically are observed in program implementation by the regional teams and other implementing partners.
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance Officers and Medical Detailer to ensure the team acquires an up to date and in-depth knowledge of MOH, PSIU and donors’ standards and procedures.

Financial Management: Track project related budgets and expenditure against the work plans to ascertain efficient use of resources

Social Marketing:

  • Use innovative approaches to engage stakeholders in supporting uptake of RH services in line with the core projects Establish and maintain a franchise network of clinics in the region and monitor their compliance to the set standards and targets including conducting quality checks and implementing preventive and corrective actions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an MBchB
  • Any other post graduate training in management is an added advantage
  • Valid registration with relevant medical regulatory body
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in planning and managing health services delivery program, financial management and budget experience is a plus in a donor funded Nongovernment organization.
  • Technical expertise and functional knowledge in RH, Maternal Health, Cervical cancer, HIV, Malaria and Child Survival
  • Working with rural communities, local partners including local government is an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Resources for Health programs.
  •  Experience training health care workers.
  •  Excellent writing and editing skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to communicate colleagues and team player.
  •  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to work with various partners including MoH, Local governments, CBOs and other NGOs.
  •  Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  •  Demonstrated ability to high standards for quality of work and consistently achieves project targets
  •  Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and networking skills.
  •  Possession of a valid national driving permit with demonstrated ability to drive is an added advantage.
