What is the price of the course?

This will depend on the course which you are interested in doing. Click on “Register for a 10% discount” on the IIT home page, complete all the required information and you will be taken to the course you are interested in – click on this.

Not long after registering online, you will receive a 2nd e-mail with information links (marked in blue) you need to click on and open to look at.

This will contain information on the course of your choice (with pricing and break down of fees), contract of enrolment and a schedule of starting dates and times of classes.

How do I register?

You need to come to our offices to hand in the signed contract of enrolment, along with a copy of your ID (sponsors ID as well), your Gr. 10 and/or Gr. 12 certificate, 3 latest pay slips (either your own or that of your sponsor) and any account which is paid monthly, along with the non-refundable registration and deposit fees.

How do I make payment?

Cash, check (no post dated cheques are accepted) or via EFT. Debit orders will be deducted monthly from your or your sponsors account

When do I make payment?

As soon as possible, this is to secure you a seat in the class of your choice. We cannot promise/ keep you a seat if you have not paid the registration and deposit fees. Debit orders will be automatically deducted from your account by the bank monthly

Can I pay on terms?

Yes, Namibian citizens can pay on terms. See conditions for each on the relevant course information.

Foreign students will be required to pay half of the total course fee upon registration and the remainder before the course is 50% completed

When do I start my course

The different courses have different starting dates. When you register, you will receive an invoice, on which it will state when your course will start.

If it says “TBA – To Be Announced” on your invoice, IIT will send you an sms or give you a call to let you know when your class will commence.

I want to cancel my course?

Should the student withdraw from the course or a subject, before classes commence, without immediately re-enrolling for another course or subject of the same value, the student and / or sponsor will be liable to pay 30% of the course or subject fee plus the value of any books, stationary or equipment issued to the student.

Should such a withdrawal take place after classes have commenced and no longer than one week after commencement of classes, the student and/or sponsor will be liable to pay 50% of the course or subject fee plus the value of any books, stationary or equipment issued to the student.

Should such a withdrawal take place one week after commencement of classes, the student and/or sponsor will be liable to pay 100% of the course or subject fee plus the value of any books, stationary or equipment issued to the student.

I want to change my course

Should the student defer from the course or a subject to a later occurrence of the same course or subject, and then the student and/or sponsor will be charged as if the student has withdrawn.

Should the student transfer from the course or a subject to a different course or subject within one week of classes commencing, then the student and/or sponsor will be liable to pay the value of any books, stationary or equipment issued to the student.

Should such a transfer take place more than a week after classes have commenced, then the student and/or sponsor will be liable to pay 100 % of the course or subject fee plus the value of any books, stationary or equipment issued to the student.

How long is my course

What are the class hours

Full time classes are either from 8:00 until 12:00 or from 13:00 until 17:00. Part time classes usually run from 17:30 until 20:30.

What do I need to bring along to class

This depends on the course you have enrolled for. For IT classes you need to bring your own personal laptop with, as well as a pen and a notebook for jotting down notes during class. For business courses you only need to bring along a pen and notebook

What is my responsibility when studying at IIT

It is the students responsibility to adhere to the rules and regulations of IIT. These will be stated in the student induction handbook, which you will receive and sign for during your first week of class. The trainer will go through it with the students, in case there is anything that needs to be explained to the students.

Does IIT offer Degree courses

IIT does not offer Degree courses.

Does IIT offer Job attachments?

Namibian companies regularly contact IIT looking for graduated students. Part of our corporate responsibility to our students is to keep on file the CV’s of students who are looking for employment in the field that they studied.

A great number of students have found permanent employment via this system. It is the students responsibility to make sure that the Student Councillor has the student’s curriculum vitae and that the information is kept current. This CV will only be held on file for 2 years and then be destroyed
