Job Summary: The International Relations Officer will manage UPL’s global and foreign business operations and strengthen engagement of the company with other countries as well as the cultural, political and operational challenges of foreign markets and available opportunities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain active dialogue between UPL and other stakeholders to assure constant favorable relations.
- Ensure that UPL complies with agreed upon International Policies and Regulations.
- Regularly monitor the implementation of UPU World Postal Strategy, AU/PAPU Strategy and EAC/EACO Postal Strategy.
- Update and maintain UPL’s library and ensure that reading materials used by staff are classified and catalogued to ease reference.
- Draft documents and disseminate other information to relevant stakeholders.
- The jobholder will also draft Operational Plans for the section and present to supervisor.
- Participate actively in review of the sectional policies and annual workplans.
- Coordinate activities between Finance and Mail Operations to ascertain the value and deadline for settlement of terminal dues.
- Support the Manager Corporate Relations in the implementation of National Addressing and Postcode project in Uganda.
- Provide support in the organizing of international events, meetings in Uganda in collaboration with UCC and the line Ministry.
- Provide high standards of customer service delivery.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in International Relations, Public Relations, Mass Communications or Business Administration.
- At least six years’ experience, three of which should have been in a similar field from a reputable institution.
- Knowledge of diversity management
- Good negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
