Job Summary:
The IT Officer will oversee computer systems, provide IT user support, and manage asset management in compliance with ALIGHT Uganda’s mission. The role involves maintaining the WAN/LAN hardware and software, providing technical support, managing financial information, planning and budgeting for IT services, and ensuring compliance with IT policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement WAN/LAN hardware and software.
- Provide technical support and capacity building in IT services, including cloud applications.
- Develop backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
- Install and service IT equipment like printers, scanners, and cameras.
- Manage internet connectivity and user accounts.
- Plan and budget for IT support services.
- Run yearly EPLS for ALIGHT service providers.
- Provide support for field missions.
- Manage IT assets and update inventory registers.
- Oversee general asset management and conduct physical verification.
- Implement field missions planning and support administrative and financial procedures.
- Conduct preventive maintenance of IT equipment.
- End-user support for software and hardware issues.
- Infrastructure management, including server maintenance and network security.
- Asset management, including tracking and documenting assets.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- University degree in IT, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field.
- At least three years of experience in IT, Logistics, or Operations in an international relief organization.
- Proficient in IT skills, including generic applications and internal communication systems.
- Knowledge of standard INGO and donor procurement procedures.
- Strong writing, communication, and report writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in challenging situations.
- Experience in system installation, network design, and management.
- Competency in software programs like Excel and Access.
- Leadership, stress management, and adaptability skills are essential.
