Purpose of the position
As the lead business coach, you are responsible for providing business coaching to existing and upcoming entrepreneurs in Imvepi from the refugee and host communities. You will lead a team of business coaches to provide support to the clients set up sustainable businesses. You will work with the Country Office in close collaboration with the project leader to develop the program, monitor and document progress made by the entrepreneurs, document lessons learnt and the process. You may also take on timely responsibilities as will be assigned to you.

· Provide one on one individualized and dedicated solution oriented measurable support to small businesses in Imvepi · Support micro entrepreneurs to set their own goals and work to achieve them |
Managing their business and growing to the next level | · Support entrepreneurs overcome challenges that impede growth of successful businesses
· Support entrepreneurs to foresee pitfalls and forestall disaster, while setting the stage for success. · Advise entrepreneurs on putting in place long term and short-term strategies for their businesses · Mentoring entrepreneurs on key competences, I.e. dealing with challenges, to blossom after hard times, being responsible and accountable · Advise entrepreneurs on putting in place long term and short term strategies for their businesses |
Monitoring and Evaluation | · Monitor, document and report progress made by the entrepreneurs

Contribute to program development | · Provide regular updates on regional events, trends and development
· Participate in relevant Private Sector meetings · Link Cordaid PSD with ongoing regional private sector initiatives · Support documentation and development of information resources on PSD |
Representation | · Represent Cordaid in business working groups in West Nile
· Represent Cordaid in relevant sector working groups in Arua and Imvepi |
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in commerce, industrial and organizational psychology, business administration or a field related to business
- 2 to 5 years working experience as a coach or business mentor;
- experience working in settlements
- knowledge of development and delivery of trainings;
- experience with support to small and medium sized businesses, preferably in remote communities in Uganda
- excellent command of Microsoft Excel and office packages
