Job Summary: The Legal Services Clerk will perform routine legal clerical duties for instance processing requests for court documents, filing legal documents and arrange and distribute board files to Board members of Uganda Post Limited.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a proper system of filing departmental documents.
- Tasked with securing files, box files or spring files to file documents labeling the files according to the nature of the document.
- Ensuring that board files are arranged and distributed to board members in time.
- Collecting board papers from the Heads of department, arrange them in spring files ready for distribution to Board Members.
- Ensure that court documents are properly filed.
- Carry out legal research and advise judge and other members of the legal team on the facts of a case before the oral argument.
- Responsible for checking the validity of signatures and recording them in the book.
- Process service of court process on a party of a suit where UPL is a party also.
- In charge of drafting of documents e.g. tenancy contracts; draft new contracts, renew the expired ones and drafting other correspondences.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s (Honours) in law.
- At least four years of related experience three of which should have been in law practice
- Excellent time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy skills
