Master Scholarships in Service Engineering
Master Scholarships in Service Engineering:
Many experts see the explosive growth in services as the next major revolution in the world economy.
As service economies continue to expand and powerful digital communications networks, such as the Internet, evolve rapidly, companies are transforming from regional businesses to globally integrated enterprises. The fast growing discipline of service engineering is related to service economy growth and the global need for service innovation.
Research and education in this field are therefore in high demand. This is why Tilburg University (The Netherlands) has established cooperation with the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and the University of Crete (Greece) in offering highly-motivated students the International Master in Service Engineering (IMSE).
The multi-disciplinary IMSE programme has been carefully designed at the interface of software service systems and new globe-spanning business processes to prepare students with a background in either business or information technology to become the new generation of service engineers.
IMSE is delivered in close cooperation with a number of top quality research institutes and universities, such as:
1.UC Berkeley (USA).
2.The University of New South Wales (Australia).
3.Tsinghua University (China).
4.International companies like ForthNet, IBM, Software AG, Accenture and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
This not only guarantees a curriculum that incorporates the latest developments in the field of service science and service engineering, but also stresses the global orientation of the programme.
Admissions Criteria:
- The programme is open to students with a Bachelor’s or equivalent undergraduate degree (180 ECTS) either in Management/Economics/Business Administration or in Computer Science/Information System.
- A satisfactory scholastic average, a minimum 3.0 (B) grade-point average in Bachelor’s degree work completed after the first two years.
- If you are required an English proficiency test then include an official copy of one of the following English proficiency tests: Academic IELTS (min. 6.5 overall/6.0 on parts), TOEFL (min. paper based: 575, computer based: 233, internet based: 90) or Cambridge Proficiency.

- Students with a relevant Bachelor degree from one of the partner institutions of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management, University of Stuttgart and University of Crete do not need to submit the GMAT/GRE test score. (Note: a GMAT/GRE test score is however mandatory in case a student wants to qualify for an Erasmus Mundus category A scholarship. The GMAT/GRE test is optional for those students who wish to apply for the EM Category B scholarship).
- Send in a complete application package, including motivation letter, two reference letters and CV before the application deadline.Erasmus Mundus Scholarships:– The Erasmus Mundus programme supports high-quality European Masters Courses, by providing attractive grants for students from around the world.
– Category A scholarships (third-country students) amounts to € 48.000 for two years. Third-country nationals, eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, are citizens from all other countries than: the 27 EU member States.
– In particular, Erasmus-Mundus applicants who are not residents of any of the EU countries, and who have not carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the above countries, fulfil the requirements of a third country student.
The EU requires geographical balance of admitted students that receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. This means that no more than two students from a single country may receive an EM scholarship for the IMSE programme.
Individuals who have already benefited from an EMMC scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship or another Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus masters studies. Furthermore, students who have already received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in previous years cannot apply for a subsequent Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
