About US:

Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is a Member Association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and its core mandate is to champion, provide and enable universal access to rights based Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to vulnerable and underserved communities and to young people. The role of the engagement with RHU and its partners is to ensure that SRHR are respected, protected and fulfilled as a goal in itself, and as a fundamental means to gender equality, human well-being and sustainable development.

 

About RHRN2 Project:

The Association is implementing a project entitled; Right Here Right Now2 (RHRN2). The Right Here Right Now (RHRN2) partnership is composed by seven national level CSOs which include a mix of Youth serving and youth led organizations in the country. The project seeks to increase public support for young people’s SRHR, improve policies and laws, and to strengthen civil society. Lobbying and advocacy is the project’s main strategy, supported by mutual capacity strengthening. It is a five-year project effective 1st January 2021- 31st December, 2025, to be implemented in Kampala, Kabarole, Kasese, Mbale, Kapchorwa and Kween Districts.

 

Job Summary:  The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for providing strategic Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) oversight to the entire RHU programme and avail guidance and technical support to RHU Management and staff on how to achieve performance targets in a timely manner in accordance to RHU mission.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead in formulating Research, Monitoring and Evaluation system that stimulates learning and measurement of progress
  • Consolidate and analyze Association service statistics and advise management about adherence to programme focus vis a vis strategic plan
  • Package RHU programme outputs and periodically share them with RHU management, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the production, dissemination and utilization of evidence-based research results
  • Contribute to research planning and budgeting process, including developing of concept papers and proposals.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluating project performance including routine analysis of field or partner reports and aggregate them into on dataset for sharing with management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate the Association annual programme planning and budgeting and production of periodic reports.
  • Take lead in Project processes to develop new initiatives/ technologies in M&E ensuring project design builds on experience.
  • Participate in resource mobilization initiatives of the Association
  • Supervise, mentor and appraise staff under charge.
  • Perform any other professional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Statistics or Computer Science. Conversant with computer packages, such as SPSS, Epinfo, Stata, SAS etc and with experience in qualitative as well as quantitative data analysis and dissemination.
  • Experience in social research, data base design and maintenance for at least five years. Individuals with previous NGO experience will have added advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills in monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in quantitative and qualitative M&E and research methods especially in Reproductive Health;
  • Demonstrated ability to write concise reports and submit them within set deadlines;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and to conceptualize, develop and implement performance-based improvement strategies.
  • Training skills and ability to generate and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborative, analytical, and highly organised
  • The candidate must adhere to the safeguarding reporting and monitoring requirements of this role
  • The candidate must be pro-choice
