Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) invites applications for admission into “a

Four month French Language Short Courses Evening Programme”

Courses, Duration, Time and Fees

The programme will admit two kinds of French language learners into the following short courses:

i.

Beginners: These are French learners of Tanzania, for example, who are less or have

completed standard seven from Swahili medium primary schools. The learners will be

able to read and comprehend French Language. They will be taught all four language

skills. Also, the learners are expected to improve self-expression in speaking and writing

in French. They will be able to interact with others and communicate about simple,

familiar and routine tasks correctly.

Duration: 4 months; Time: 4p.m. – 6p.m.; Fee: TZS 120,000/= for MUCE students

per stage, TZS 200,000/= for MUCE staff per stage and TZS 300,000/= for people

from outside MUCE per stage.

ii.Intermediate learners: These are Form Four and Form Six leavers; majority of whom from community secondary schools. We will teach them high degree of participation and focus on the four language skills. Also this level will be assigned to the students who have achieved Level A1 and A2 and those who are due to start Level B1 and B2.The students of this level will be able to formulate hypothesis, to make arguments. Also the students will be able to manage French grammatical structures and to use French in different communicative situations – simple and complex ones. For example, ability to

write simple text on familiar topics; to describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes & ambitions; to give reasons, opinions, plans and explanations in a correct French.

Duration: 4 months; Time: 4p.m. – 6p.m.; Fee: TZS 120, 000/= for MUCE students per stage, TZS 200,000/= for MUCE staff per stage and TZS 300,000/= for people from outside MUCE per stage.

We will issue certificate to each candidate who successfully completes the course after “a four month time for testimony”. Choose the course suitably because these courses are designed in stages to your current competence over French language.

Teaching session will commence in the first week of August, 2016.

Application procedures:

Interested applicants are invited to collect application forms from the office of the Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) or download them from MUCE website: www.muce.ac.tz.

Applicants should collect/download the forms and fill in the required information correctly and submit them to the same office with an application fee pay in slip.

Application Deadline:

Duly completed forms should be returned to the office of the Dean, Faculty of

Humanities and Social Sciences at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) not later than 29 July 2016.

Forms submitted without a pay in slip will not be considered.
