Job Summary:
The Nutrition Officer will spearhead, supervise, and integrate nutrition programs within primary healthcare services in Kiryandongo. This role involves overseeing technical implementation, ensuring high-quality service delivery across primary healthcare services, and leading the nutrition program to meet guidelines and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership and oversight of nutrition activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and quality standards.
- Set up and supervise nutrition sites and activities, ensuring effective and high-quality programming.
- Oversee the implementation of nutrition monitoring activities, including mass MUAC screenings and promotion of maternal infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN).
- Technical guidance to staff and coordination with MoH and other actors to promote good practice.
- Manage nutrition program reporting and ensure timely submission of reports and requisitions for supplies and equipment.
- Monitor the usage of therapeutic feeds to avoid stockouts and ensure compliance with the IRC code of conduct.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human nutrition and dietetics.
- Minimum three years of experience in a similar role in a humanitarian setting.
- Experience in project management, health, and nutrition training (CMAM, IMNCI).
- Knowledge of nutrition in emergencies and the roles of various partners.
- Demonstrated experience in staff and budget management.
- Strong communication, representation, technical writing, and computer skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
