About PAU:
The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body responsible for monitoring and regulating the exploration, development, production, and other petroleum operations in Uganda. The authority ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and international best practices in the oil and gas industry.
Job Summary:
The Process Engineer will be involved in monitoring and regulating process engineering aspects of oil and gas processing facilities. This includes design assessment, optimizations, installation, maintenance, operations, and decommissioning in line with Ugandan legal frameworks and international practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review proposals/applications related to upstream processing systems and technologies.
- Monitor and report on the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of processing systems.
- Review process aspects of Field Development Plans, Engineering Designs, and technical proposals.
- Utilize process simulation software for analyzing process designs.
- Review work programs and budgets related to production systems and operations.
- Evaluate technical studies and designs for petroleum processing operations.
- Support the evaluation of process safety requirements and advise on process risks.
- Maintain a database on aspects relating to process engineering.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Chemical or Process Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry from a recognized university.
- At least three years of relevant working experience.
- A Master’s degree in Process or Chemical Engineering is preferable.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations is an advantage.
- Demonstrated innovation, integrity, independence, teamwork ability.
- Skill in interpreting and analyzing process diagrams.
- Proficient in relevant process simulation software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- A record of outstanding performance.
