Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Scholarships in Peace and Conflict Studies
Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Scholarships in Peace and Conflict Studies: Applications are invited from international students for three two‐year Postgraduate Diploma/Mastersscholarships.
The NCPACS is New Zealand’s first Centre to combine global cross‐disciplinary expertise on the issues of development, peace building and conflict transformation.
It offers postgraduate programs at the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and PhD level; conducts high level research on the causes of violent conflict and the conditions for sustainable peace, and provides training, evaluation expertise, and expert advice to government and nongovernmental organizations engaged in humanitarian intervention, conflict resolution and peace building.
It is a postgraduate theory, research and practice centre, located within the Division of Humanities.
Scholarships will be awarded to candidates capable of reinforcing the following existing strengths of the Centre:
- Development and Peace building.
- Conflict Analysis, Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
- Post Conflict Reconstruction, Reconciliation and Social Healing.
The scholarships will be awarded to candidates wishing to pursue careers in peace and conflict research, policy and practice.
Scholarships will be awarded on a basis of grade average at the undergraduate level with some recognition being given to candidates with development, peace work and/or conflict resolution experience.
The scholarships will be funded through the University of Otago and provide an annual stipend of NZ$10,000 for up to 24 months (two years).
The scholarship will contribute towards (but not fully cover) tuition fees.
