UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) is a registered financial institution in Uganda and is adherent to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to provide quality microfinance services.
Job Summary: The Product Manager Group Lending shall be responsible for providing leadership in the implementation of UGAFODE (MDI) Group Lending strategy so as to drive growth in line with approved targets and compliance to set Credit policies and risk parameters of the institution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Growth of Group lending portfolio by championing growth through building strategic partnerships, sighting new growth opportunities to enhance a sustainable quality portfolio growth for the institution.
- Management of Credit Risk for Group loans in line with credit policy.
- Continuous monitoring of group loan performance so as to ensure good portfolio Quality
- Support with credit advisory services on lending, credit and risk management strategies including pre-loan eligibility requirements, client screening, etc.
- Credit training & awareness for building internal credit staff capability as well as for external customers/borrowers.
- Analyses figures and compiles daily/weekly/monthly reports on the performance of the Asset book for Group Loans to the attention of Head of Credit, RALCO, SMT and other stake holders in compliance with credit policies and procedures.
- Conducts continuous monitoring and review of credit policies in line with market changes/developments in the industry and as may be required by the institution
- In-charge of the credit approval process of all Group Loans in the institution in line with Credit processes and procedures as well as the risk appetite of UGAFODE (MDI).
- Team supervision to all direct reports, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) Product Manager – Group Lending job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Economics or finance.
- A good track record of sales management is desirable.
- At least five years’ experience in credit management and should have worked as credit officer/credit supervisor in group lending
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of banking services and products
- Knowledge of the full MS Office suite
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Energetic and ability to be active throughout and willingness to learn
- High level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and high level of customer care
- Strong analytical power and innovative abilities.
