Job Summary:

Reporting to the Deputy Programme Manager Acholi, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing project activities in Lamwo district. They will serve as the main contact for local partners, representing ZOA on the ground and coordinating with the Programme Quality team in Kampala. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will support partner capacity building, ensure project outputs align with quality standards, and contribute to reporting and coordination efforts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

General:

  • Support local partners and project staff in implementing project activities.
  • Ensure project outputs align with the overall project plan and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners in Acholi on livelihoods and peacebuilding.
  • Organize regular project review meetings with partners.
  • Responsible for beneficiary accountability within the project.

Local Partner Support:

  • Review reports submitted by partners and conduct quality checks on partner implementation.
  • Support partner capacity building initiatives.
  • Coordinate partner activities to ensure project objectives are met.

Reporting:

  • Provide inputs to implementation plans and prepare activity/monthly reports.
  • Identify and document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit well-written success stories.
  • Contribute to project reports or implementation plans as required.

Representation and Coordination:

  • Actively participate in relevant technical working groups and coordination meetings.
  • Regular coordination with local government actors and relevant district offices.
  • Contact with other project-specific actors, consultants, or service providers.

Human Resource Support:

  • Ensure staff under supervision have weekly and monthly targets.
  • Conduct staff appraisal/evaluation as per ZOA’s policy.
  • Provide technical support through coaching and mentorship.

Procurement and Finance:

  • Initiate timely purchase requisition of project goods/services.
  • Ensure expenses are in line with approved budget and provide appropriate codes.

Accountability:

  • Sensitize all stakeholders on feedback and complaint mechanisms.
  • Document and report complaints or feedback following correct procedures.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • University degree in international development, social science, or similar.
  • Three years of successful experience in an NGO working on project implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience in food security, land rights, inclusion and gender, lobby & advocacy, MEAL.
  • Experience in refugee settings and working with local partners is a plus.
  • Understanding of the local context, culture, and languages is advantageous.
  • Networking capacities with interpersonal, organizational, and intercultural sensitivity.
  • Advocacy skills and ability to plan, coordinate, and work in an organized manner.
  • Proficiency in Ms Excel and Ms Word, ability to drive a motorcycle with a valid license.
  • Commitment to inclusion for Persons with Disabilities, personal integrity, flexibility, and adaptability.
