Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for implementing the “Building Resilience for Protection of Refugees and Host Community Children and Adolescents in West Nile Project.” This role entails managing all programmatic and financial aspects of the project, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan and compliance with donor requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Initiation: Oversee project implementation, manage detailed plans, and ensure compliance with statutory policies.
  • Communicating for Influence: Implement an innovative influencing & communication plan, representing Plan International effectively, and engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring Impactful Implementation: Manage project funds, monitor budgeted expenditures, and ensure gender considerations are mainstreamed into project implementation.
  • Risk, Compliance & Accountability: Manage project risks, ensure compliance with global policies, and maintain accountability for project funds.
  • Leadership & Staff Management: Lead and manage the project team, fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring high performance.
  • Safeguarding, Gender Equality & Inclusion: Embed Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Gender Equality in all activities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, International Law, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work and Social Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate diploma in education, certification in Project Planning and Management, and/or M&E are added advantages.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in managing Child Protection in Emergency programs, preferably with an International NGO.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, particularly in education-related projects.
  • Knowledge of DO NO HARM principles and international child protection standards.
  • Experience in managing large, complex donor projects.
  • Strong skills in leadership, resilience, adaptability, and awareness of gender and diversity issues.
