Job Summary:  The Project Manager provides overall programmatic and operational lead and management including; planning, implementation, capacity enhancement, monitoring/ evaluation and reporting both internally (within SCI) and externally with stakeholders. The person is accountable for overall coordination and oversight delivery of the award to be implemented. The Program Manager may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicants for the Save the Children Project Manager job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably post-graduate university degree, in subject related to education or project planning and management.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in Project planning and management, particularly in a humanitarian context
  • Technical expertise in either education or child protection in emergencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing education or child protection consortium projects
  • Demonstrated experience in documentation and Donor reporting
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands on implementation capacity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desirable
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Experience of representation, including Cluster coordination, and ability to represent effectively in external forums
