HPI is a credible Environmental, Social, Health and Safety service provider in Uganda. We provide tailor made services that uniquely respond to existing needs of infrastructure development projects by facilitating capacity building, social risk management, accelerating access to health services, restoration of social assets for Project Affected Persons (PAPs), collaborations and partnerships/stakeholder engagements and fast-tracking contractor HSE compliance requirements.
Job Summary: The Public Health Officer will carry out the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of all the public health aspects of the project (mainly in HIV/AIDS. Malaria, NCOs). The incumbent will also send timely reports on public health activities implemented. Perform engagement with stakeholders on critical Issues of public health concerns in the project area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Professionally implement deliverables within the approved schedule and in accordance with the MoH guidelines (mainly in HIV/AIDS, Malaria, NCDs).
- Produce timely technical reports.
- Initiate and work with District Local Governments, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to technically implement the program.
- Take part in project meetings to provide updates on project implementation
- Build Coalition with other actors within the districts of operation.
- Participate in organizing and conducting research activities like Baseline survey, Evaluation, and Impact assessments.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (Public health. Health Promotion, Clinical Medicine, Nursing), Health Systems Management, or Social Sciences with training from a reputable institution.
- M. Sc. degree in Public Health is an added advantage.
- At least five years of related work experience of mid to senior level public health experience In developing, implementing, and evaluating public health.
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
