Food for the Hungry (FH) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. FH is currently operating programs in more than 26 countries and has national offices in the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Korea, United States of America and Japan. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities of Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, Kole, Kween, Mbale, and Mukono Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located it Kampala.
Job Summary: The Regional Logistics Officer will conduct timely procurement of quality goods, services and works that comply with the required specifications while upholding Food for the Hungry’s procurement and Logistics procedures and policies and maintaining high level of accountability and integrity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of Procurement Requests:
- Sourcing of Goods, Services and Works:
- Administering Contracts and Payments
- Fleet management
- Supplier Relationships and Communications
- Assets and Property Management (including premises)
- Storekeeping
- Reporting & Record Keeping/Filing
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Food for the Hungry (FH) Regional Logistics Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Purchasing & Supply, or field relevant to the position.
- Possession of Professional qualification/certification such as Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management – C.L.P.S or equivalent. A relevant post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- At least five years’ experience at supervisor level in large procuring entity, preferably with an International NGO.
- Sound public and negotiation skills along with business acumen coupled with attention to details, maturity in decision making and time management skills
- Be highly proactive with personal initiative and drive, honest with a high level of integrity
- Good team-player with a positive attitude and good planning skills
- Possess the ability to handle multiple projects and work under minimal supervision.
- Possess the ability to work in a team to achieve excellence in execution, committed, accountable and passionate about the work we do.

- Track record demonstrating high integrity, reliable and dependable
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

- The incumbent is obliged to create and maintain an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and sexual abuse and promote the implementation of the ideal code of conduct
- Create dialogue and promote awareness about sexual exploitation and sexual abuse issues with beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
