Food for the Hungry (FH) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. FH is currently operating programs in more than 26 countries and has national offices in the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Korea, United States of America and Japan. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities of Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, Kole, Kween, Mbale, and Mukono Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located it Kampala.
Job Summary: The Regional Program Manager is a member of Senior Management Team (SMT). S/he will be responsible for the overall management of Food for the Hungry’s programs in Uganda, focusing on the assigned Clusters. The position will support the scale up of programing in line with the Country strategy and FH’s primary program model coded Child Focused Community Transformation (CFCT). The position holder will also assist the Program Director (PD) representing Food for the Hungry towards donors, development partners and co-ordination bodies and authorities where required. The Regional Programs Manager will have overall accountability to ensure quality, timely and effective implementation of Food for the Hungry’s programs & projects, upholding organizational values and principles.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree in Law, Social Sciences, Social Work, and/ or related field of study. A master’s degree in Public Administration, Management, International Relations, Public Health is an added advantage
- A post graduate in Project Planning and Management and/or Human Rights is an added advantage
- Five years of relevant work experience with progressively increasing responsibility in INGO context, previous experience with USAID funding preferred
- Conceptual understanding of and commitment to development work, especially Christian, child-focused, community-based development concepts, approaches and processes;
- Strong understanding of the operations of government ministries
- Good understanding of latest developments, research and trends in community development;
- Proven success in grant writing and net-working
- Networking/coordination skills among different partners/stakeholders;
- Demonstrated capacity building and facilitation skills;
