Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) is established as a Public Authority, and its mandate is to promote and oversee the coffee industry by supporting research, promoting production, controlling coffee quality, and improving the marketing of coffee in order to optimize foreign exchange earnings for the Country and payments to the farmers.

Job Summary: The Risk Officer will implement the day to day operations of risk management program designed to protect UCDA against all financial, physical and human resources exposures and risks, including general liability, property damages, and other risks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for UCDA.
- Develop and manage processes to identify and evaluate the Authority’s risks and risk control assessments.
- Develop and maintain UCDA’s risk register.
- Monitor and report regularly on risks to process owners / Head of Departments, to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their functions in the Authority.
- Provide support and training to staff to build risk awareness within the Authority.
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) Risk Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or Upper Second class) in: Finance and Accounting; or B.Com (Accounting Option); or BBA (Accounting Option); or related business field from a recognized University.
- Professional qualifications in Accounting; – ACCA (at least Level II) or CPAU (At least Level II).
- A certificate in Risk Management will be an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years working experience in risk management function.
- Impeccable level of integrity, professionalism, teamwork and analytical skills and a good eye for detail.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to understand broad organization issues.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Good computer skills are needed with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence people.
