About US:
The Uganda Cancer Institute is mandated by me UCI Act of 2016 to undertake cancer care, research and training. The UCI is also the designated EastAfrica Regional Centre of Excellence in Cancer Care, Research and Training.
The Institute officer’s comprehensive cancer care for screening, diagnosis, policy, care, research and training with all treatment modalities. In a bid to improve the services offered to Ugandans, UCI is expanding its radiotherapy facility having acquired additional two radiotherapy machines.
It is critical to the evolution of a National Centre of Excellence, providing specialized treatment and care for all types of cancer using all the available subspecialty expertise possible, as well as engineering oncology-centered research and training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifying payment vouchers in accordance with existing financial/accounting rules, regulations and instructions
- Collating financial estimates
- Bookkeeping and reconciling transactions
- Providing accounting advice
- Computerizing data/information and production process
- Monitoring subordinate work schedules and ensuring compliance
- Compiles and submits periodic reports of the department
- Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must have a diploma in Commerce or Business Administration(Accounting) or Bsc Accounting and Finance from a recognized University or Institution
- Should have at least three years’ experience at the level of Assistant Accountant
