Job Summary:
The Senior Regional Projects & Partnerships Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading project management, partnerships relations, and grants management for PlayMatters, overseeing the Grants, Partnership & Coordination (GPC) Department. This position is integral in ensuring strategic coordination, project compliance, and effective partnerships across the consortium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall coordination and communication within IRC and consortium partners, ensuring strategic and operational alignment.
  • Manage and coordinate donor relationships, ensuring compliance with donor and IRC regulations.
  • Oversee partnership relations, proactively resolving issues and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Lead the development and implementation of internal knowledge management and planning systems.
  • Advise on strategic initiatives and problem-solving at high levels.
  • Ensure project compliance with donor and IRC policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership in strategic program coordination discussions and decision-making.
  • Represent IRC in various meetings and events.
  • Supervise and manage Grants & Partnerships staff, supporting key functions and project implementation.
  • Participate in leadership groups and provide strategic guidance for the project.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 7-8 years of experience in program administration, grants management, communications, and project management in an international NGO or similar organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and experience with project management software and tools.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and develop positive relationships with remote-based staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Experience in external representation and senior leadership engagement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in adjusting plans to realities across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian programming and experience working in conflict and crisis settings.
  • Understanding of the East Africa regional context and experience working in the region is preferred.
  • Knowledge in the field of early childhood development or education is a plus.
