PROGRAMME INFORMATION

The duration of our Master’s programmes is 18 months, twelve months of coursework to be run in two semesters and a minimum of six months for dissertation work. For more (specific) information about individual programmes please visit our website www.sjut.ac.tz

Master’s programme by Coursework and dissertation is scheduled to commence in November 2017 for the academic years 2017/2018. Masters by thesis only commences anytime upon completion of application and registration requirements. Masters by thesis applicants should demonstrate a more than two years working on the same field applied for.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS FOR MASTER PROGRAMMES

A candidate for admission into the Master’s degree shall hold at least a second class bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.

A candidate with PASS degree or advanced diploma will also be considered upon producing evidence of having obtained an examined postgraduate diploma or professional qualification (in a relevant field of study).

A candidate who holds unclassified or foreign degree (degree obtained outside Tanzania) should have an average credit of B or above and have it certified/validated by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).

MODE OF APPLICATION

Application forms may be collected from the Office of Admissions, St John’s University of Tanzania and its Centers in Dodoma or downloaded from the University website www.sjut.ac.tz where one can also download a copy of the fee structure.

1.All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of relevant academic certificates along with two reference forms. All referees must be persons who are academically familiar with the applicant, either as his/her undergraduate tutor/lecturer, research supervisor, or one of them could be professional associate (immediate manager or employer) for those employed, but NOT relatives or just friends. Reference forms filled by none of the above mentioned persons on the academic suitability of the candidate will not be accepted.

2.Duly filled in application forms accompanied with relevant copies of academic certificates, birth certificate and attached original bank pay-in-slip for the payment of the non-refundable application fee of TShs.30,000/= (US$ 40 for non-Tanzanians) paid to our University account at CRDB, Income A/C No. 01J1082864000, Dodoma Branch should be submitted at the University Centers or addressed to:
