Job Summary: The Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Manager will provide technical assistance to planning, implementing and evaluating communication campaigns to increase the uptake of Family Planning Services in families, woman and young adults. S/he will also assist in training and coaching to enhance knowledge and skills on BCC for demand reduction, coordination among partner organizations and knowledge sharing. The SBCC Manager shall work under the direct supervision of Pathfinder’s Objective 2 and 3 Lead/Senior SBCC Manager of the USAID Family Planning Project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports formative and evaluation research, sentinel surveys, as needed, to inform programming
- Supports development of SBCC strategies, materials, media, and implementation plans that reflect global best practices. Provide quality assurance and support to on-the-ground implementers
- Coordinates the review and adaptation of existing SBCC capacity strengthening and tools for use in demand reduction efforts to counter FP resistance
- Supports the design, delivery, and monitoring of technical assistance plans and training to strengthen partners’ ability to design, implement, and evaluate demand reduction programs targeting behavior change
- Assists in knowledge sharing and partner collaboration efforts SBC4T and provide support to relevant technical working groups, MOH/IEC/BCC Department and other partners
- Promotes sustainability of project activities with effective networking, coordination, and linkages to other programs, partners, and counterparts
- Documents and prepares presentations, reports, success stories on demand reduction and capacity strengthening activities of the project
- Assists in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Pathfinder International Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Manager job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, mass communication or communication, social marketing, or a related field
- Five years of experience in a managerial capacity supporting and managing communication programs in a development field
- In-depth understanding of and expertise in behavior change communication
- Experience and skills in using online and social media platforms for communication and promotional activities
- Interpersonal communication materials
- Some experience working with market research and creative agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to plan and conduct participatory training activities
- Demonstrated ability to document activities and workshops
- Logical and analytical thinker with very good presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people skills and proven ability to work as an effective team member
- Expertise in word, Excel, PPT and other office applications; skills in preparing Infographics desirable
- Ability to set priorities while multi-tasking, and meet deadlines
