About the Role:

The WASH Coordinator will oversee the implementation of our comprehensive WASH project portfolio. This role involves enhancing access to clean and safe drinking water through various initiatives, promoting good hygiene practices, and ensuring sustainable behavior change in rural communities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing our approaches, partnerships, and technical expertise in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development of the WASH portfolio.
  • Implementation and management of WASH programs, ensuring effective coordination and budget management.
  • Leading portfolio monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.
  • External representation and coordination in national and international WASH forums.
  • Resource mobilization, including proposal development for funding opportunities.
  • Human resource management, including leading and developing the WASH team.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Masters in Public Health, Environmental Health, Social Sciences, Business, Economics, Civil Engineering, Management, or a related field. Extensive experience may substitute for qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years at a coordinator level with experience managing multiple projects and teams.
  • At least 5 years in managing complex WASH programming in developing countries.
  • Experience in developing WASH strategies and implementation plans.
  • Strong financial literacy and management skills, along with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with support functions such as finance, procurement, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of market systems development and sustainable WASH systems.
  • Experience in working with both public and private service providers.
  • Understanding of gender and inclusion challenges in WASH.
